History

1958

The courts are founded

The first tennis courts were built on the RTU grounds.

1975

Expansion

Additional courts were built as student interest in tennis grew.

1985

First regional tournament

The RTU courts hosted their first inter-university tennis tournament.

1992

The independence era

The courts were renovated after Latvia regained independence.

2005

Modernisation

New surfaces and lighting were installed on several courts.

2012

Youth academy

A youth tennis academy was founded, running regular sessions for schoolchildren.

2018

Coaching programme

A regular coaching programme began for beginners and experienced players.
